It’s sadly time to say goodbye to my 2017 Liv Envie Advanced 1 which was kindly loaned to me by my sponsors, Rutland Giant Store. Tomorrow I will be taking back the 2017 model and so I thought it would be fitting to write a review on the bike that has allowed me to train and race with ease and style.
Giant have completely nailed style and performance in their women specific brand ‘Liv’ and the Envie is no exception. It is a bike fit for a riding queen!
Being a small athlete I have always struggled with finding a bike that fits, until I came across Liv. Giant have made no compromises in their women specific designs and it’s paid off. The shorter top tube and taller head tube makes riding these bikes a whole different ball game for women! Gone are the days of making do with poorly fitting men’s bikes, we finally have bikes of our own! Which brings me nicely onto what first attracted me to Liv…
I am a massive advocate of increasing female participation in sport and love how Liv actively promotes women’s cycling, from novice to professional level across all the disciplines of biking. When the opportunity arose to represent the brand as an ambassador I just couldn’t say no, especially as I already had a love of Giant/Liv bikes with my Giant mountain bike and Liv Avow Advanced TT bike.
Last season was a turning point in my triathlon career… gaining a national title, debuting in the elite circle, finishing in podium positions, and racing internationally. The Liv Envie was the best training partner I could have asked for, it never disappointed in its racing performance and was easy to travel abroad with due to its ease of disassembly and reassembly. I have no doubt it was a factor in my successes.
I would recommend Liv/Giant for any rider, no matter what their ability or chosen discipline. My Dad has quite the collection of Giant bikes and currently races on the Giant TCR SL. Even my Mum has jumped on the bandwagon and is now in possession of the Liv Avail Advanced 1 (very jealous) which she enjoys on long rides with friends, competing in entry level triathlons, and sportives.
I’m mega excited to meet with my sponsors tomorrow and discuss my future sponsorship with Giant Rutland…I’m ready to ride into 2018 in style.
Thanks for reading and remember ladies, we deserve the best when we ride and that means choosing a bike that’s made with us in mind!
